I've used the default "import objects from dynamics 365" to retrieve accounts from our system. I also created a view which does the required filtering. After the first run, I changed the view a bit. Which means I added a few extra columns in this view. I expected that this would allow me to add these columns/fields to my Table. But unfortunately I don't seem to get access to these "new Columns". How should I get access to this? Thanks for the help
When you update a view in Dynamics 365 with new columns, you'll need to re-run the import to access these new fields. After updating your view, go back to your Clay table and run the Dynamics 365 import again. This will refresh the data and make the newly added columns available for mapping in your table. If the columns still don't appear, try creating a new view in Clay to ensure all columns are visible.
Before I run the "Update now" for the import objects from my Table. Will this also run all enrichments I have. As this would be a bit costly
Yes, updating your Dynamics 365 import will run all enrichments if auto-update is enabled. To avoid unnecessary credit costs: 1. Turn off auto-update by clicking the three-dot icon beside your table name and selecting auto-update. 2. Use filtered views to ensure only specific rows are enriched. 3. Set up conditional runs in your enrichment columns' Run Settings with "Only run if" formulas. This way, you can update your import to get the new columns without triggering costly enrichments.
Okay, I think this is clear I'll try this
thanks
Sorry to get back on this, but it seems that updating the "Import object.." didn't work to get the columns. I did created a new "source import" referencing to the same Dynamics view and this has the required columns. I'm now only wondering how I can use this new import. I don't want to lose all the enrichments I've done before.
You can map the new columns from your new Dynamics import to your existing table without losing enrichments: 1. Open your existing table with all your enrichments 2. Go to Actions > Import and select your new Dynamics source 3. When mapping columns, choose "Add to current table" option 4. Map only the new columns you need from the updated view This preserves all your existing data and enrichments while adding just the new columns from your updated Dynamics view.
So I did do step 2 but didn't got an seperate step for mapping. I do notice that the first column with "Import objects from Dynamics" now has a 2 in it. And in the menu under sources I have 2 entries pointing to Dynamics. If I click on a single entry in this column I get the "cell details" but the Column/field I need is still not there. Any suggestions?
When you update a Dynamics 365 view, Clay doesn't automatically refresh your existing table with the new columns. To access these new columns while preserving your enrichments: 1. Create a new table with your updated Dynamics view (which you've already done) 2. Use the "write to table" feature to transfer data between tables: • Add an enrichment column in your original table • Search for "Write to Table" integration • Select your new table as the destination • Enter "/" to skip list selection • Map your existing columns to preserve data • Configure auto-update settings as needed This approach preserves your enrichments while giving you access to the new columns.
Hey there Harmen thanks for reaching out, sorry for the delay here, do you mind sending the link (url) to the table so we can take a look?
