One of my use cases for Clay is to score and tier my list of 2,000 accounts. I likely need 3 columns requiring AI usage (two for advanced web research, one for basic AI usage). Im thinking about using Argon for the advanced research and Helium for basic, but I’ve heard that using an OpenAPI key can be less expensive overall. Any insight on how this might work in terms of cost, and if using OpenAPI keys, is the process much more complicated?
You can score and tier your accounts in Clay using a combination of AI columns and our scoring capabilities. Here's how:1. Set up AI columns: • Add columns using the "Add Column using AI" feature • For each column, you can choose between Clay-managed AI keys or your own API key 2. Regarding API keys and costs: • You can use Clay's managed keys or bring your own API key if you're on a paid plan • Using your own API key is straightforward - simply go to Model > Account > Add Account and input your key • If you already have active subscriptions with AI providers, using your own API keys is free within Clay 3. Model considerations: • GPT-3.5 is the most cost-effective option • GPT-4 Turbo and Claude are 20x more expensive but provide higher quality results • When using Clay's key, GPT-4 costs 3 credits per rowOur platform allows you to combine all these data points to create unique lead scores and build complex workflows on top of your custom scoring system.
