Hey there,

Hey there, I know this group is mostly about Clay, but I’m curious if there are any Apollo users here? I’m reaching out about Apollo because it lacks its own dedicated community, and I believe someone in this chat might be using it. I am new to sales and my issue now is finding a clean list of leads. Say I’m looking for CEOs in e-commerce. In this case, I input “CEO” in the “job titles” field and “e-commerce” in the “Company keywords” field. When I search, I get CEOs of e-commerce businesses, but also CEOs of agencies and platforms that serve e-commerce, which isn’t what I want. So, I end up checking each contact’s website to make sure they’re really in e-commerce. It’s a big time suck. Even trying support and experimenting, I can’t figure out how to get a clean list of the leads I need. Any tips on making clean lists faster in Apollo? Or any other way to quickly get a good list of specific leads, like e-commerce CEOs? Thanks!!!!

Hey hey! Can you drop the URL for your table here? (if applicable) 🫶 Don't worry, only admins will be able to open your table 😉

Hey Daria, thanks for reaching out! Definitely a few people using Apollo here, hopefully, they can share some knowledge soon. Eric N. has some YouTube videos sometimes showing how he uses Apollo in case it helps https://www.youtube.com/@ericnowoslawski

For e-commerce though, I think there are more dedicated platforms that could help generate an appropriate list of companies to search for contacts at them, like Store Leads.

Apollo user here, I'd either use another platform to get that data accurately or, import those companies to Clay and make a prompt with ChatGPT (or maybe Claygent) to filter out the ones who's LinkedIn descriptions match E-commerce.

Turn on the technology filter in Apollo for ecommerce technologies like Shopify and then narrow with industries and you'll get a pretty great list of ecommerce stores

Rubi S. Thanks. I’m not a user of Clay yet, but it seems like if I were to filter out those whose LinkedIn descriptions match “e-commerce,” I’d encounter similar outcomes: e-commerce businesses, agencies, and platforms that logically mention “ecommerce” in their LinkedIn descriptions, isn’t it?

Arturo O. Eric N. thanks for your replies! I’m testing with various personas and need to gather not just e-commerce CEOs but also other companies related to digital platforms (such as SaaS companies, finance-related apps, assurance, edtech, etc.). It would be great to find a simple framework for generating a clean list of leads applicable across the various personas I’m testing. I started to watch the videos of Eric that Arturo sent. Why I didn’t find it earlier?! 😀It looks like answers on my questions should be there and solvable within Apollo?
