how often does Clay's find people database refeshes its record? Seeing a lot of previous employees at the companies
Clay's Find People database doesn't have a fixed refresh schedule. Instead, we offer flexible, automated refresh strategies that you can customize based on your needs. You can set up dynamic lists in your CRM that Clay will update daily (or more frequently on enterprise plans). You can choose how often to refresh your data - quarterly, biannually, or any custom timeframe you prefer. For individual records, we recommend adding a "last enriched by Clay" date. This allows for intelligent, automated updates. For example, you could set Clay to only re-enrich records that haven't been updated in the last 90 days. Additionally, our Find & Enrich Person action updates records that haven't been refreshed in over 45 days. This ensures your employee information stays current without unnecessary updates.
im using Clay's find people feature to source list of contacts, saw a lot of previous employees
To ensure you're getting the most up-to-date list of current employees when using Clay's Find People feature, consider these steps: 1. Use the "Past Experiences" filter to focus on current roles. 2. Preview your results before importing. This allows you to review and refine your search criteria if you notice outdated information. 3. After importing, you can edit your search parameters by clicking on the source column in your People table. This will append new contacts based on updated filters without removing previously added ones. 4. Regularly update your lists by re-running the Find People action on your existing tables. If you're still seeing a significant number of outdated records, you may want to request human assistance for further guidance on optimizing your search strategy.
how would "1. Use the "Past Experiences" filter to focus on current roles." help my case?
The "Past Experiences" filter in Clay's Find People feature helps you focus on current roles by allowing you to exclude past positions from your search results. When you toggle this filter off, the search will only consider people's current job titles and companies, not their previous roles. This means you're more likely to find individuals who are currently employed at the companies you're targeting, rather than those who may have worked there in the past. By using this filter, you can significantly reduce the number of outdated records in your search results, helping you build a more accurate and up-to-date list of current employees.
Hey, the database refreshes frequently, but that doesn’t always mean it reflects the most recent updates from each person’s profile. Sometimes, someone might’ve marked a job change recently—even if they actually switched roles years ago. If you want the most accurate and up-to-date info, try using the Enrich Person from Profile block. It pulls data at the time of the run. Let me know if you want help setting that up.
Thanks Bo! So I’m trying to use Find People + Max Month in roles as a source to pull new contacts. While everything you said makes sense and is really helpful! It doesn’t necessarily answer/help my case. It’s been a few days and I see the table ran the sources but without new contacts. I’m going to guess Clay refresh the contact database either on weekly/monthly bases? 😅
