Can we use additional data points to look at fuzzy matching against accounts in Salesforce? i.e. post code, Account phone number, etc and in what order does Clay run these checks?
Yes, you can use additional data points for Salesforce lookups. The Lookup Record action allows you to select multiple Fields to Filter By (like postcode, phone number, etc.) and specify values to search for in those fields. You can configure the Search Operator to use AND logic (all fields must match) or OR logic (at least one field must match). By default, Clay performs a "contains" search across all fields, but you can toggle Exact Match to require precise matches in all search fields. The sources don't specify the exact order Clay runs these checks - you control the matching logic through the search operator settings.
Hello Kara! Thanks for reaching out! As mentioned yes we can add additional datapoints for Salesforce lookup. We suggest using it as some fields might have different field names in certain records within Salesforce (Linkedin url and Linkedin_url) and this helps consider them all. It is also useful when we would want to look at more than one field (incase one of them is missing) to match to the record in the Clay table. Hope that makes sense!
