I'm new to Clay. I created a table from scratch with the Find People option. I enriched it with emails, tried to export it to hubspot and got the error that the hubspot ID wasn't mapped. I realized I didn't have a hubspot column in this table so I did a small import from hubspot to add that column and now it appears to have erased all of the emails I enriched previously. Is there any way to get those back? And what am I doing wrong to export these to hubspot?
Unfortunately, there's no direct way to recover the enriched emails that were erased after your HubSpot import. When importing from HubSpot, the data replaces what's in your table rather than merging with it. For future exports to HubSpot: 1. First check if contacts already exist in HubSpot by: • Adding a HubSpot enrichment with "Lookup Contact" action • Using email as the unique identifier • Running a test to check if contacts exist 2. Then export by: • Adding another HubSpot enrichment with "Create object" or "Update object" action • Ensuring you have a HubSpot Object ID column for mapping This approach prevents data loss and ensures proper CRM hygiene.
But how do I get the emails I already enriched back?
Unfortunately, we're unable to recover the enriched emails that were erased after your HubSpot import. When you delete or overwrite data in Clay, it can only be recovered if you use the "Undo" option that appears briefly after the action. You'll need to re-run the email enrichment process on your table. To do this, add an email waterfall enrichment by clicking "Add enrichment" and selecting "Work email" to find emails for your contacts again.
So I'm going to lose those 7,000 credits?
Unfortunately, credits spent on email enrichment aren't refunded when data is overwritten or deleted. Credits are only refunded if no email is found during the enrichment process. Even if you delete tables or data, the credits remain spent. For future enrichments, you might want to use lookup columns to avoid duplicate enrichments and save credits.
