Hey team! We'd like to give edit access to one person to a clay table. But not to all the workspace - is this possible?
Yes, you can share a specific table with individual people without giving them access to your entire workspace. Here's how:1. Go to the top bar and click on your workbook's title 2. Click "Turn on sharing" to enable sharing 3. Enter the specific email address of the person you want to share the table withYou can also share the table as a template, which will share the table structure and only one row of data if you want to limit the data shared. If you need further assistance with this process, please don't hesitate to ask for more details or request human assistance by clicking on "Talk to a person". Hey! But I want someone to work on a table so can create new columns and modify the table consuming my workspace credits but not allowing this person to see the rest of the documents we have in the workspace
Hi Antonio. Currently, Clay doesn't offer any abilities to e.g. restrict users to certain tables, or workbooks, or folders, etc.. I can see a lot of value in this, though. Our product/engineering teams are in initial phases of work on role-based access controls. As they plan what other abilities would you like to see? I'm happy to pass along the feedback to help them prioritize.
Hey Mark! I see, thanks for your response. Could you help me to know what is the best way to do the following? In a hiring process, we want to share an assignment with candidates so they need to solve it in a Clay table. This will require the following:
Candidates have decent amount of credits to solve it (they could be consumed from our company's credits)
Candidate can access and edit their own table
Candidates cannot see others candidates tables or company's tables since we have internal info.
Could you please guide us on how is the best way to do it? Could we create sub workspaces or another workspace linked to our main company's workspace to do it? Thanks for your help in advance!
Hey Antonio - Actually the simplest way to handle your hiring assignment setup would be like this: Have each candidate create their own free trial Clay account. This is great because: 1. They'll get their own free credits to work with (no need to use your company's credits!) 2. They'll have a totally separate workspace from your company's private info 3. You can just share a template of your assignment table for them to work on
But how many credits do they have there?
1000 credits! :)
I think it's not going to be enough for what we are asking for
I would recommend to maybe find a less costly assignment? Currently, we don't have a way to share credits between accounts or limit certain people's view access. The only other option would be to purchase separate subscriptions for your candidates. I know this might not be ideal for your hiring process. Just want to be upfront about the limitations so you can plan accordingly.
I see! Thanks Bo!
