Hi Clay Team, not sure if it’s a bug but here’s what happened: So I ran an email waterfall and some columns are still being enriched despite already having the result from the previous column(or email finder) See row 31 and 32
When you see the waterfall continuing to run even after finding an email, this is actually an important quality control measure. It happens because an email might have been found by a data provider but failed the validation check. This process ensures you're working with the highest quality data possible. Do you have email validation on? If the emails are invalid, it will continue to the next operation.
Yes, email validation is automatically included in our email waterfall process. We use ZeroBounce by default as our validation service, though you have the option to choose a different provider if you prefer.By default, catch-all emails are marked as valid, but if you want to be more selective, you can enable the "only mark safe to send" option which will exclude catch-all emails from your valid email list. Hey - Can you do this for me: 1. Show All Rows: Follow the steps shown in the screenshot to display all rows. 2. Check Email Validity: Look for the hidden validation column to see if the found emails are valid or not. https://downloads.intercomcdn.com/i/o/w28k1kwz/1268096009/e7fc9784ca9909493f9fa2777a92/0d931510-22e0-47ad-9df8-fc1bafb653d9?expires=1732732200&signature=06d14e93a54db0c66da193392c54bdf513fa9655e25c87486dd1762bbe04745a&req=dSIhHsl3m4FfUPMW1HO4zeBvxKqDkKsDgWVTH%2BYzwM0XE%2Fem0OxcKNfXxzJA%0AvTJM%0A As you might have noticed, some emails are deemed invalid. Here’s a recap of how our waterfall process works: • Inquiry: When we need to find an email, we ask our providers if they have information on a particular contact. • Response: If they have the details, they send them to us. If not, they send nothing. • Cost: Each successful inquiry costs credits, and we can’t predict what they’ll provide until we receive it. • Validation: We then pass this information to a validation tool that also cost credits and to keep tables clean, validation columns are automatically hidden. If an email is invalid, the next email finder tries to find a new one. However, if it finds the same email as before, it won’t re-validate it since it has already been checked and it won't return it in the final column. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask! 🌟 Check out this Loom video for more details.
Yeah I already did that
The problem is not with the validation, it's the RocketReach waterfall exit formula which doesn't work
But if you remove the conditional (i.e. "?? phones[0]"), it does
Hey Matthew - I've replied to you in the previous ticket! Jericho issue isn't the same here unfortunately! :)
Haha sorry! Got threads mixed up
