I noticed that Sonnet 3.7 says it costs 15 clay credits. However, each time I use it, it only subtracts 3. Does this mean that it could go up to 15 credits per call? If I test 10 different rows, and each only takes 3 credits, is it safe to assume the cost-at-scale would be 3 credits per cell?
The cost for Sonnet 3.7 can vary. It doesn't always cost 3 credits per call, and it can potentially increase up to 15 credits per call. The actual cost depends on the complexity and length of the prompt for each row. Clay now offers variable credit costs for AI enrichments. The system allows using additional credits when needed to process longer or more complex prompts, up to the limit you set in the "Clay Credit Budget" for the AI column. To estimate the cost-at-scale accurately, you'd need to analyze the complexity of your data and prompts across all rows. If most of your rows require simple prompts, the cost might stay closer to 3 credits, but it could increase for more complex cases.
Is there a way to set a credit limit with Sonnet 3.7?
Hey Dustin, thanks for reaching out! Could you share the table where you're seeing this? This is likely an estimation of how many credits will be spent given the context and task at hand. The estimation would be the ceiling in which you could get charged, but would love to confirm this!
Thx. See Find companies table - Recent Positive News Article column. All of those ones took 3 credits - is there a way to limit credit usage with sonnet to 5 credits max?
Unfortunately, with models that go online—like Sonnet—there’s no way to limit how many credits they use per run. The only option for setting a credit cap is to use a non-online model, which allows for more control see here: https://cln.sh/qyTlFsqS Let me know if you have more questions
Thanks for the help. Unfortunately this column needs web research. If technically possible to implement, may be a good idea for a future update.
Got it. We'll keep you posted on if any changes like this get implemented moving forward! Let us know if there's anything we can do to help. :)
