Why is auto-dedupe not working?
Auto-dedupe excludes blank cells and cells with more than 200 characters from processing. [1] Check your LinkedIn Handle column for:
• Blank cells - these won't be deduplicated
• Values over 200 characters - these are also excluded
• Exact matches only - deduplication is case-sensitive, so "openai" and "OpenAI" are treated as different values [2]
• Extra whitespace - "openai " (with space) and "openai" aren't considered duplicates
If your data looks clean, try toggling auto-dedupe off and back on, then click "Save changes."
Is that what you were looking for?
No

Hey Siddhant - thank you for reaching out. Could you send me the URL to your table that you're having an issue with?
Thanks for sending that over! What you can do it first dedupe the column, then turn auto-dedupe to the setting you want. In order to dedupe the column, edit the column and press dedupe.
Hopefully after this column is deduped, auto-dedupe will dedupe new data.
It did help, and it handled de-duplication for a while, but then allowed duplicates to exist again after a while...
Thank you for your patience. Here's what I did:
I turned auto-dedupe off on the table level and saved that change
I then did a hard refresh by pressing Command + Shift + R
Then I turned auto-dedupe back on and it deleted 4 duplicate rows
I believe the auto-dedupe was glitching but it should hopefully work now.
We haven't heard back from you here, so we're going to go ahead and close this thread out.

Just FYI - this seems to be happening in other tables as well. Could I understand how the system works internally and what would be the time line to solve this permanently?
Hey Siddhant- just so I could get more clarity on this, you are deduping by LinkedIn handles, but can you confirm that the slugs are in the same format?
If you could send me the other tables where this is happening that would be great!
