Re new HG Insights: I usually look for all technologies and then use formulas to extract them from the full results. Is that not possible with HG?
Yes, you can discover what technologies companies use through HG Insights' integration with Clay. The "Enrich Enterprise Tech Stack" and "Find Companies by Tech Stack" actions will provide technology data in your results, including "back of house" tools that aren't visible on websites. The output data includes:** Technologies description ** Technologies Used ** Company Revenue ** Employee Count ** Company Parent Name ** Location details (Country, City, Region, State)You can then use Clay formulas to extract and analyze specific technology information from these results. Hi Andreas, thanks for reaching out! Happy to take a look here for you!
I think it shouldn’t say “Required inputs missing”
Hey Tanvi 🙂 HNY!!!
HNY Andreas!
It looks like the Products input is missing - but I see what you're trying to do here. Let me check with the team about if the product input is intentional and get back to you
cool - that’s kinda how all other integrations on tech stack work and at 8 credits I would not integrate this for multiple technologies
Tanvi R. sooo, more detail hope it’ll be helpful. The way I would want to use this for clients is that I need to at least be able to search for a technology category without knowing all of the technologies beforehand. That’s just not the right way. My client wants to look for 4 technologies, ok, I can search for these, but then we may want to add another one. If I can use a formula to extract these from the results no problem, but the way it’s implemented now means I would have to re-run the integration. I love that HG now is available on a usage basis but with this implementation it’s too expensive I think.
Discover what technologies a company uses, including “back of house” tools that you won’t find on a website. HG covers 95% of Global IT Spend and is trusted by 90% of Fortune 500 Tech Companies. **Note: you’ll be charged 8 credits per technology.**Learn more Seems I just got it wrong. ok…
HG Insights charges 8 credits per technology searched, so getting the complete tech stack isn't possible. You'll need to specify which technologies you want to search for to control credit usage. This integration works best when you want to verify specific technologies with high confidence - for example, finding companies that definitely use Azure. The data is hand-verified and updated daily, focusing on accuracy rather than broad tech stack discovery. Think of it as a targeted verification tool rather than a comprehensive tech stack explorer.
this helps!
Thanks for shedding some light on this. I can see that coming together
Welcome! Happy Saturday!
same same 🙂
makes sense. different approach, but can see why certain use-cases would require this approach. thanks!
Yes exactly - it's geared towards enterprise clients like Google and HP where accuracy is crucial since false positives cost them thousands in wasted sales efforts. When your dealing with larger businesses and complex variables like multiple locations, websites, and tech stacks per country, getting it right becomes really important at that scale and also is very hard due to the numbers of potential false postiives. The higher cost makes sense when you consider the expensive consequences of bad data for their sales teams.
perfect this cleared it up thanks Bo

Thank you so much for sharing your feedback Andreas W.!
Can the HG insights integration be used as source or just as enrichment on top of an existing list of companies? Ex: if I want to find all the companies that use a Hubspot for CRM or Stripe for payments.
Hi Andreas! Jumping in for Bo. Hope you had a great time in Berlin! :) It works as a source as well as an enrichment :) Heads up: We're currently preparing a support document on HG insights that will be live on our website soon. If there's anything else I can assist you with, please let me know! 😊 Have a great Monday, Daniel
Hi all, does the new HG feature only give a list of technologies a company is using, or is there a way to determine what they use the technologies for? Eg Zoom is the technology they use for Communication? or Saleshub is the technology they use for Sales?
