Understanding Select a List from a Column in Write to Other Table

What does Select a list from a column mean/do in "Write to Other Table" enrichemnt? Don't see it explained in the documentation (https://www.clay.com/university/guide/write-to-table-integration-overview). I'm successfully rewriting data from tables to others with out. Am I missing out on something?

The "Select a list from a column" option in the write to table feature allows you to map out lists from cells to create new rows in another table. This is useful when you have a cell containing a list of items (e.g., email addresses) that you want to split into individual rows in the destination table. However, using a list is optional. You can also perform column mapping without selecting a list: 1. List Mapping: Map out lists from cells to create new rows. 2. Column Mapping: For individual values, enter "/" to skip list selection and directly map columns between tables. This flexibility allows you to write either individual values or entire lists to another table, depending on your needs. If you're successfully rewriting data without using lists, you're likely using the column mapping approach, which is perfectly valid for many use cases.
