Hi Clay team, I'm on a free trial and am trying to pull Google search results into a table. I got an error message that said to check my plan limits. Am I not able to use this functionality in trial mode? If I were to upgrade, which plans include this functionality? Thanks! Raina
Hey hey! Can you drop the URL for your table here? (if applicable) 🫶 Don't worry, only admins will be able to open your table 😉
It failed to create the table, so I'm not able to share the URL, sorry.
Hey!! sorry about that. I just replied to the other thread but was also able to create a table. Does refreshing or logging out and back in help?
Hi Arturo, thanks. Yes, I tried it again and it worked. I selected only 10 results instead of 50 and wondered if that was a factor. Also, now that I have results I'm seeing snippets and wondering whether I can control what the snippets returns from the page. For example, I'm pulling in Reddit questions and want it to pull in the original question asked, which isn't what the snippet currently contains...thanks in advance!
Great question! Unfortunately, I don't think Google offers an option for that since it's almost the same snippet they'd return with a regular search or within those lines
ok so to get the question I'd need to create a ChatGPT prompt to go to the page and return the question text?
When I use ChatGPT to try to do they above, about 1/3 responses from AI are saying it can't browse web sites in real time. Is there a workaround for this?
Ahh, maybe that's a task for our Claygent integration which does have browsing capabilities
Here's a video on how some are using it (not the same example but to give you some ideas): https://www.linkedin.com/posts/clay-hq_claygent-completely-changes-how-we-do-sales-activity-7130200224974688256-R4gx?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop
thanks, actually, I realized Scrape Website as a prior step resolves this by bringing the body text into the table so GPT can analyze without scraping.
Nice!! that's also a great option. A lot of people have used Claygent recently to cut the steps into one but that definitely works!
