Hi my thread was closed so readdressing this - per this thread anytime a row is updated in the g sheet rather than created it is adding a comma to all the cells.
Bruno R. I dmed you the g sheet as I don't want everyone in this channel to get access.
👋 Hey there! Our support team has got your message - we'll be back in touch within 24 hours (often sooner!). If you haven't already, please include the URL of your table in this thread so that we can help you as quickly as possible!
Hey Travers, thanks for reaching out! Could you DM the Google Sheet to 'Owen Ciha (Clay)' in the community Slack? I'd be happy to take a look at it!
Done, thanks!
Just realized that I deleted the write to gsheet column so I'll quickly added that in to replicate it -- look for the column "Owen Investigate Row"
Amazing! Thank you so much - Quick ask: Do you mind sending over the URL for this Clay table as well? Having trouble sourcing the correct one :)
Fine by me to re-run a single row. Make sure that the column for "FINAL URL" is not empty for the row you re-run, and make sure the column "Sent for monitoring?" equals true
This is happening to any row that updates for any google sheet of mine that is running an update or add row though, as a heads up, there were hundreds in this google sheet but i manually updated them, I left Peter Cresswell as is so you could see what is happening
Okay, sweet! That sounds great, and I appreciate the context. I’ll run a quick experiment since this is a bit odd.
Thank you!
Just to confirm the problem. When a row is created or updated from Clay into any Google Sheet of yours, an apostrophe is added to the data (as shown in this image) Noticed this only occurs for cells with a number as the leading character - Still checking this out. https://downloads.intercomcdn.com/i/o/w28k1kwz/1218673313/c9025654a12bf0a51da64018a1bb/CleanShot+2024-10-16+at+17_55_13.png?expires=1729117800&signature=08145c97ff012b2ddeadb7940f0447d4f1c6b2dd801fd3b1174c409ae630053b&req=dSImHs95noJeWvMW1HO4zWWJw8hA1Fa9zfZ88xGTj9NzHMEzkxizfhvUYUPu%0A4WIk%0A
Yes its only a number as leading character, that's correct, and only when a cell is updated, not when it is originally created
Got it! I found the solution! The apostrophe in front of the data in Google Sheets acts as a 'text marker.' This happens when Google Sheets reads the value as text instead of a number or formula. To fix it, simply change the column type in Clay from 'Text' to 'Number.' I updated the Profile ID to a number column, re-ran the process, and it resolved the issue!
Awesome! Thanks so much Owen, you have been a huge help
Of course!! Happy to help! Feel free to reach out with any other questions or concerns :)
We haven't heard back from you in a bit, so we're going to go ahead and close things out here - feel free to let us know if you still need something!
