How Many Credits Do I Need for My 30-Day Workflow Project?

·
·

Hey Clay friends: I have a specific workflow that I want to implement in the next 30 days. I have a question about how many credits it would take for this project? I am not sure which plan to purchase for what I want to do and just need a little help understanding the credit system. THanK YOUUUU :)

Not urgent. Just would be good to get this figured out before the 14 day trial ends so I can purchase the correct plan. Thank you!

Hey Brent - i’d typically recommend making a test workflow with 10-15 rows. You can then click each column and see the credit usage -> extrapolate from there! You can also start with a smaller plan and upgrade as needed in product!

Can you describe the workflow/enrichments you want to use + the volume of leads

Sure. I want to make a list of 5,000, 1,000 from 5 different verticals with specific parameters, then have email and phone contact for all 5,000 After this initial list is exported to my CRM Then I want to develop an email sequence of 15 emails per lead (75,000) emails using the Ai feature. 🙂

Gotcha, if you want direct CRM connections you’ll need to be on the Pro plan

I saw that. That is not a problem.

But let’s say you have 5000 people:

    • Emails are around 3 credits each

    • Phone number are around 10 credits each

    • Generating an email depends on what you need:

    • If you need to do any more enrichments to personalize the email

    • If you plan to use Clay’s API key for AI or your own

If we assume you’re using your own API key and need no further enrichments, it would just be: 65,000 credits for that first batch

Something I’d be curious about though is whether you really need 15 personalized emails per lead? Are those cold emails?

I may not need that many. Yes they are cold emails. I just have mapped out a sequence that I felt good about. But I am open to your input.

Gotcha - its a bit aggressive. After 5-7 additional emails sometimes just become spammy. But if you’ve seen success i’d say go for it

Have you seen any of Eric Nowoslawki’s youtube videos?

If the sequence was 5 emails per lead, that 25,000 emails for 5,000 leads on a list. On average, how many credits does Clay use to write a good personalized email? No, I haven't seen this but I will check it out!

really depends on your vertical and how you sell. It can be as low as one enrichment (Just the linkedin company info which is 1 credit). Or it could be 6 if you wanted tech stack, open jobs, etc.

I’d typically backtrack from the emails you want to send and what needs to be personalized

then you can figure out the enrichments needed from there

ChatGPT is 1 credit if you’re using our API key, or free if using your own
