I would like to connect clay to slack, but apparently it's not marketplace verified, is this planned? Our security team rejects apps that are not in the marketplace
👋 Hey there! Our support team has got your message - we'll be back in touch within 24 hours (often sooner!). If you haven't already, please include the URL of your table in this thread so that we can help you as quickly as possible!
Hi Florian! Thanks for reaching out! Just to clarify, are you experiencing any issues with the Clay and Slack integration, or are you looking to use Clay as an app directly within Slack? Just want to make sure I understand fully! 😊
the integration
if i try to connect it, it says the integration is not verified
if it's not marketplace listed, it gets rejected by our security policy
Got it! Could you share the Clay table you're working on that is trying to send notifications to Slack?
i think you're misreading my message. that's a different issues. less important. first i want to connect to the right slack team
currently I'm testing with a different slack team bc my CTO blocked me
Gotcha! Apologies for any confusion. Clay doesn’t have a standalone app for Slack; instead, it integrates with Slack’s API to either send messages or pull information, like details about channel members. This is typically a one-way interaction where Clay sends notifications. As for your team’s specific security measures, I’m not entirely sure how they might affect Slack’s API. However, Clay being a verified app on the marketplace does not impact its ability to send messages through the API. Does this help answer your question? Let me know if you need further details!
yeah i get, it's more internal politics...
Totally understand! I’ve heard from a co-worker that getting Slack Apps verified can be quite a challenge internally. Is there anything else I can do to assist with this?
Hey Florian! Just following up with a correction and some additional info: While we do have an app for Clay in Slack, we're currently not prioritizing the intense approval process. However, you can still work around this by using Zapier to send notifications to Slack in various ways. Let me know if you’d like help setting that up!
We haven't heard back from you in a bit, so we're going to go ahead and close things out here - feel free to let us know if you still need something!
