Automated Messaging Campaign Issues: Zapier, Crunchbase, and Claygent Help

I have a crunchbase to Clay zap set up. every time a company is added to saved search i have in crunchbase (recently funded), it's *supposed to automatically push to Clay

however -- the push is not automatic. instead, I have to go into Zapier and hit "run" and then the new company is added to the clay table. what gives?

once the recently funded company is pushed to Clay, i have specific Claygent research that's conducted on the company, and then the goal is to create a personalized email based on that research the Claygent is conducting.

i have very specific parameters of how i want the email to sound/ feel, and the level of personalization included in the email

what's the most cost-effective, but successful way to do this? not sure if i should push the company to an apollo list first, or what
