Troubleshooting Anthropic API Credit Error with Claude Sonnet 3.5

Have close to 10,000 credits available and trying to run an AI enrichment with Claude Sonnet 3.5 but getting this error: "Your credit balance is too low to access the Anthropic API. Please go to Plans & Billing to upgrade or purchase credits." There are definitely enough credits in our account. How can I fix this?

This error occurs because you're likely using Clay's shared API key for Anthropic. To resolve this, you can add your own Anthropic API key: 1. Go to Settings > Connections 2. Select Anthropic from the services list 3. Click the "..." menu and choose "Edit" to: • Add your Anthropic API credentials • Set it as the default account if desired 4. Save your changes You can test the connection after setup by using the "Test Connection" option in the same menu. Using your own Anthropic API key is one of the recommended ways to optimize credit usage in Clay.

I do not have an API key for Anthropic. Surely I should be able to use Clay's instead?

You can use Clay's managed Anthropic account (shared API key) by default for AI enrichments - there's no need for your own API key. When setting up an AI enrichment: 1. The Clay-managed account is automatically selected and accessible for all models 2. You can find this option in the enrichment panel under "Model > Account" Note that using the Clay-managed account will involve credit charges ranging from 0.5 to 6 credits per output. This is designed to be straightforward - you don't need any outside accounts or API keys to use Clay's AI tools, as you can simply pay with Clay credits to access these features.

Hey Seb! It looks like you have your own anthropic key causing this error. When I run a row with Clay's key (as seen in the first row) the column is working successfully. I would check the credits with your Anthropic key and increase your balance to use this key. If you believe you have enough balance in your Anthropic account, you can reach out to Anthropic's support team to resolve this.
