Hi - I tried searching through the channel and couldn't find an answer. I am trying to find companies (of a certain size / geo) that are also hiring for specific positions and tools experience. For example, US-based companies with 50-200 FTE that are hiring for data engineers, data analysts, or tools experience like DBT / Airflow. To do this I've built a table off the "find companies" template then built filters for this criteria so the results only reflect companies hiring for these roles and tools experience. The problem I have is that these hiring filters are applied after the initial company search is conducted - if I load an additional 100 companies, it'll filter down to ~5 (or however many meet the hiring criteria) versus only loading the 5 that meet this criteria. Is there a better way to build this table where the company and hiring criteria can be executed / loaded in tandem? The table would only load the 5 companies that meet my criteria, versus 100 companies that meet company criteria followed by a filter down to the hiring criteria.
You can achieve this by using the "Job Openings" waterfall approach when setting up your company search. Here's how to do it efficiently: 1. Create a new company table and set up your initial company search parameters: • Set company size (50-200 FTE) • Specify location (US-based) • Add any other relevant company filters 2. Instead of filtering after the fact, use the "Job Openings" waterfall which combines data from multiple sources. When setting this up: • Use company domain as the parameter • Add your specific job-related keywords (e.g., "data engineer", "data analyst") • Include tool-specific terms (e.g., "DBT", "Airflow")This approach will ensure that your search only returns companies that match both your company criteria and have relevant job openings, loading them together rather than filtering after the fact. Hey there Tyler thanks for reaching out, do you mind sending the link (url) to the table so we can take a look? https://downloads.intercomcdn.com/i/o/w28k1kwz/1347419411/65baf32e1d2a789ffba395c6d35c/CleanShot+2025-01-22+at+_42I1FzxXHf%402x.png?expires=1738192500&signature=3dd3db05fa83e1fb1739745d9615aca2cb999aa8dea0961adf952551f8e58ad7&req=dSMjEc1%2FlIVeWPMW1HO4zVws4pk2BFatgvYjA82bedDnvA%3D%3D%0A
I did exactly this and it's not working. It's still loading companies based on the company search parameters, not as a waterfall with the job's filter. The job openings watefall result column is also returning all job openings, not just those that match my criteria. Some screnshots and a link to the table.
Hey there Tyler after taking a look at this, there currently is no way to do this in Clay, however this is something that the team has discussed adding to Clay, where users can add company filters while also simultaneously search for jobs. At the moment the best method is to start by building the company list and then searching for the jobs afterwards.
Got it - thank you for looking into it.
