Troubleshooting Custom Fields in Outreach.io Integration

Hi. I'm kind of stuck...I want to send prospects into sequences. First, I'm trying to push prospects into outreach by following these steps. However, I do not see the ability to add Custom Fields. That option is not available in my Add Enrichment UI. This is a video of what my Add Prospect to Outreach Enrichment UI looks like: The above documentation references the ability to do this (see screen shot below). I do not see that option.

To add Custom Fields when pushing prospects to Outreach sequences, you'll need to use the "Create Prospect" or "Update Prospect" actions, not the "Add to Sequence" action. Here's how: 1. Select the "Create Prospect" or "Update Prospect" action in your enrichment. 2. In the action settings, you'll find a "Custom Fields" input. This is where you can add your custom variables. 3. Make sure your custom variables in Clay exactly match the ones you've set up in Outreach. 4. After creating or updating the prospect with custom fields, you can use the "Add to Sequence" action to add them to your desired sequence. If you're still having trouble, please request human assistance by clicking on "Talk to a person" for more detailed guidance.

As a follow-up to this, I was able to Add test prospects to Outreach with out any custom fields. However, I when I went to add them to a sequence, I get this a very plain error message.

Hey, To see the custom fields in the UI, you’ll need to start by creating the contact in Outreach first with the Create Prospect enrichment, the custom field options will appear in this enrichment step (see screenshot) After creating the contact, you’ll get a Contact ID, which you can then use in the Add to Sequence step. Right now, it looks like you’re trying to add someone using an Apollo ID, which won’t work in this case. So just make sure the contact is created first—then you’ll be able to add them to the sequence with the correct ID. Let me know how it goes or if you hit any snags!
