I have Slack and Clay connected, but I added a new public channel in Slack an hour ago, and it does not show up in the list of Slack channels for some reason. I do see other channels though. Any idea why not?
Our Slack integration connects to your workspace through OAuth authentication and allows you to interact with channels for actions like sending messages and finding channel members. [1] The integration requires you to authenticate your Slack account through Settings > Connections or via any integration panel. [2]
However, the documentation doesn't specify how channel discovery works or refresh timing for newly created channels. The integration may need time to sync with your Slack workspace, or there might be specific permissions or settings affecting channel visibility.
What type of Slack actions are you trying to perform with the new channel - are you looking to send messages to it or retrieve member lists?
If you still need help with your Slack channel issue, I’m here to assist. Would you like to provide more details about what you’re trying to do with the new channel so we can continue troubleshooting?
Clay only refreshes Slack channels periodically try reconnecting your Slack integration to refresh the channel list then it should appear.
Exactly right! Reconnecting your Slack integration should refresh the channel list and make your new channel visible. [1]
To reconnect: go to Settings > Connections, find your Slack integration, and re-authenticate it. This will sync the latest channels from your workspace.
Did reconnecting solve it for you?
