I am getting this error when running a people search: "Find people search failed. Limit must be greater than or equal to the number of existing records." Please explain
This error occurs when there's a mismatch between your search limits and the number of records you're trying to retrieve. Here's what you need to know: 1. Each search has two types of limits you can set: β’ An overall record limit (up to 50,000 records per search) β’ A per-company limit (up to 100 records per company) The total number of results shown in the preview may be higher than what can actually be imported due to these limits. For example, if you see 5,000+ results in the preview but have a lower limit set, the final import will be restricted to reflect these limits. To resolve this error: ** Check your search filter settings ** Adjust your limits to accommodate the number of records you want to import * Make sure your limits align with your plan's maximum allowances

https://app.clay.com/workspaces/356860/tables/t_w9hg7gjioier/views/gv_jfbKMAdpDg7s Hi Clay Team. Really not sure what's gone wrong here. It was working perfectly beforehand.
Problem 1: Every time I run a people search for an account I get the following error. "Find people search failed. Limit must be greater than or equal to the number of existing records."
What I've tried already:
Adjusting the Limit and Per Company Limit. It did nothing.
Checking if the contacts already exist in the destination table.
Problem 2:
I also noticed I was getting an error indicating a 'Source was setup incorrectly' when running this search. I noticed in the destination table I had already hit the maximum 5 source limited for the Imported Profile column. In an effort to fix this, I deleted one of the sources (and retained the row data)
I also want to note, all the 'sources' appear to be the same table. Is that normal? Perhaps because I renamed that table several times.
Obviously this didnt fix the "Find people search failed. Limit must be greater than or equal to the number of existing records." error, but it did get rid of the 'source limit error'.
Thanks in advance
Hi Max, thanks for reaching out. The issue you're encountering is that when adding more people, the number you enter must be greater than the number of existing rows. For example, if you have 4,997 rows, you should enter a number greater than 4,997 (e.g., 5,000). This will add only the necessary contacts to reach 5,000. If you enter a smaller number, like 100, it would indicate that you only want to see 100 contacts, which isnβt possible since you already have 4,997. Let me know if this clarifies things!
Oh π That makes sense. Well I'm glad it's simple to solve! Will try it later and will let you know if there are any issues. Thank you Stefano
Any thoughts on Problem 2 mentioned above?
Hi, could you please rephrase what the question is? Happy to help, just wanted to make sure I understand :)
this is the issue I'm referring too. As you can see, I cannot add any more contacts
I'm not understanding why it's categorized as an additional source, when it's the same exact source i'm running all of these people searches from
Hey Max, thanks for reaching out. Are you trying to find contacts at these companies found in the table you've linked? If so, this error may have occurred if you tried to import a people search into this table. The video below shows me searching for people at these companies without any issues. Please let me know if you're able to reproduce these results when finding people at these companies or if you have any other questions. :)
Hi Owen - thanks for getting back to me. The issue seems to be when I try to import the results into this table: https://app.clay.com/workspaces/356860/tables/t_8DfBqYChqgaE/views/gv_JPUAfUKZXCSg
As you can see I already have a Find People enrichment column in the table you were looking at. This has been set up with the right Job Titles etc that we want to go after etc To be clear this was working perfectly before. I would simply run the enrichment on the account i wanted to find contacts for and they would then appear in this one https://app.clay.com/workspaces/356860/tables/t_8DfBqYChqgaE/views/gv_JPUAfUKZXCSg
Got it, looking into this further. This is likely related to the limit set on the search itself. When procuring the search in the menu that is seen right before the attached image, what were the filters and search criteria set to? If the limit of how many people you'd like to import is less than the total number of people already within the table you're importing to, this error is likely to occur. Let me know what the search criteria was and try increasing the limit to be greater than the total number of rows within the table you're importing into.
Hi again Owen! The thing is, there are 13k rows in the destination table. It wasn't my intention originally to have so many contacts, but somewhere along the way it looks like the Find People search auto-populated / updated the table with contacts from our accounts table. The maximum limit I can put on a new search is 5k. So what do I do? π
Btw I'm totally up for a Teams call at some point soon if you offer that kind of support. We are about to upgrade our package too FYI.
Hey! I'd recommend duplicating your table (this will keep the enrichment) and then you can start adding new results inside of that table.
[App: Article Inserter] Curious what you were looking for in a potential call?
