Is there a more cost efficient way of finding headcount per dept than "find employee headcount" as I have 5k records and even sorting by larger employee count its still 1k records.
The function doesn't list either the jobs or names of those people, is there a more detailed enrichment e.g Linkedin > find people by department? (appreciate I'm on the company table at the moment and not yet in a people table)
For a more cost-efficient way to find headcount per department for 5,000 records, you can use the "Find Employee Headcount by Criteria" action. This action allows you to query employee headcount based on specific criteria, which can include departments. For a more detailed enrichment, we offer an "Employee Count by Department" data point that can help you understand the organizational structure. Additionally, you can use the "Find People" action to get detailed information about individuals based on criteria like job title or company. To efficiently find headcount per department for 5,000 records and get detailed enrichment, you can use two actions: 1. "Find Employee Headcount by Criteria": This action allows you to query employee headcount based on specific criteria, including departments. It's more efficient for large datasets. 2. "Find People": This action retrieves detailed information about individuals, including job titles and names, based on criteria like company or department. For LinkedIn data enrichment, use the "Enrich Person" action to get more detailed information from social profiles. That is the one I used "Find Employee Headcount by Criteria" but after doing a sample test, I realised that having employee job titles and names migh be better than just an employee count per dept. Also, what does "names" do? I'm not sure of the utility, why you'd need this? e.g finding a bunch of Johns or Daves 😉
To retrieve employee job titles and names by department, you can use the "Find People" action instead of "Find Employee Headcount by Criteria". This action allows you to get detailed information about individuals, including their job titles and names, based on specific criteria like company or department. The "names" function in Clay is part of the data output from the "Find People" action. It provides the full names of individuals, which can be useful for personalized outreach, identifying key contacts within a department, or creating more detailed organizational charts. If you need further assistance with using these actions, please request human support by clicking on "Talk to a person" in this chat.
I've already found the companies, there are two types of people I'd like to find.
Decision maker for the company in "find people"
The job titles and names of the people pulled in the "Find Employee Headcount by Criteria" column.
Hi Mark, Thanks for reaching out! Here’s the easiest way to get both sets of information you need: ** Go to the Action tab in the top right of your screen and select "Find People at these Companies." ** Set up two separate "Find People at these Companies" searches: - For the first one, use criteria to find decision-makers (like C-suite, VP, or Head-level positions). - For the second, use the criteria you currently have in your "Find Employee Headcount by Criteria" column. This is important because that column only gives you headcount, not individual people’s details. For a step-by-step walkthrough of how 'Find People' work, check out this guide: How to use Find People at these Companies.
