Is there a way to build lead lists based on Google Maps programmatically in Clay? I’ve done it for cities but I want to build a larger lead list across sates or even the country. I would like to automate the finding local businesses part where I enter a zip. Possibly this needs to be done in Apify, but I wanna make sure I don’t miss a way to do this in Clay.

oh interesting, so you do searches for a list of zip codes and use the SERP results?
Yes. correct
Just like you build search queries on google
You can have 100s of zip codes in 100 rows of clay and pass each code dynamically to serper.dev
row
Hey Andreas, thanks for reaching out! 😊 Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to do this programmatically in Clay at the moment—you would need to use the normal options and repeating it. But I’ll definitely pass this feedback along, as we’re always looking to improve the platform! Thanks for the suggestion! 👍
ok thanks Bo, this is helpful to know for sure. The use case is pretty big from my POV. I haven’t run an actual comparison if you can build a similar list via other methods like Ocean, but it would be really sweet to do this.
Hey Andreas W. - Heard back from the team. Are you asking about the Google Search source and whether you can pass a variable like country (e.g., “barbers in {{Country}}”)? Or are you referring to the Google Search action? You can already do this with the action, but the output will be limited to a certain number of rows.
You all rock thx for circling back on this. Yes I want to use variables on the source like you described.
wow I’ve got something beautiful working thx for the idea Muhammad S.!
