Also: wondering why in people search the linkedin job titles etc. are sometimes outdated or the linkedin link outright doesn't work. What to do about that?

Job titles and links in people search can be outdated because our data relies on third-party providers that refresh records every 2–3 weeks, so recent changes might not show up right away. For the most current info, use the “Enrich Person from Profile” action—this pulls real-time data and updates job titles and links instantly. To refresh multiple entries, run the “Enrich Person” step on your people table.

So the search people is sometimes outdated but the enrich people will always be up to date?

The "Enrich Person" feature pulls Company and People data in real time, so it's much closer to the current state of a person's profile than the regular people search, which updates every 2–3 weeks. For the most current job titles and links, use "Enrich Person from Profile" with the relevant profile URL or ID. [1]
