OpenAI has rate limits for different account tiers. Your tier increases as you use the API, but you're going to be limited for the time being

Thanks for weighing in on this Jacob. I'll add some context on this as well: We now require 30,000 TPM (tokens per minute) for ChatGPT columns and 450,000 TPM for Claygent. If you’re trying to use Claygent with a model lower than Tier 2, it won’t work. However, ChatGPT will still work fine in these cases. You can check your ChatGPT usage or limits at the following links: • Usage • Limits • Usage Tiers Their support team will always grant you the request if you have prepaid the minimum amount required and they’ll be quick to assist if you need to increase your limits or troubleshoot any issues.
I created an open ai account, paid, waited 7 days and it never went up to Tier 2. I tried to contact support, and got this reply: Hi there, Thank you for reaching out to us. Review Your Usage: If your current usage is close to your limits and you have a clear need for higher limits, this can be a factor in advancing to the next tier. Hi Jon, hmm not really much we can do here. Can you please reach out to support and say you cannot find the "Need help?" option to submit a review to request for a higher limit?
