Sometimes I want to edit my source inputs when using the Find Companies native solution AFTER performing a preliminary search. When I do this, I often only make one small change, e.g., add one industry, then re-run results. When I do this, my experience is that I get funny results. Often there are no preview-able results or the result set is much smaller than that previous even if i have expanded the result set. Is there a built-in feature that prohibits adding new rows when some rows have already been delievered?
This is expected behavior in Clay. When you edit source filters after a table has already run, Clay doesn't automatically reprocess the previously generated data. [1]
Even if your source preview shows the new filters, the table won't refresh until you re-run the step that generated the data. To see your updated results with the expanded criteria, you'll need to either delete and re-run the step or duplicate the table with the updated source. [2]
There's no built-in feature preventing new rows - it's just that Clay doesn't retroactively update existing results when you change source parameters.

So in order to get the full results net of the adjusted inputs,, without recreating from scratch, I need to duplicate the table and re-run, is that right?
Yes, exactly! You have two options to get the full results with your adjusted inputs:
1. Duplicate the table with the updated source and re-run it
2. Delete and re-run the step that generated the original data
Both will give you the complete results based on your new filters. Duplicating is often safer since you keep your original table intact. [1]
Did that answer your question?
But if I delete and re-run the step, I need to manually enter all the filters again correct?
Not necessarily! You can use saved searches to avoid re-entering filters. When you set up a new Find Companies source, click "Browse past searches" and you'll see your recent searches or any you've saved. This lets you load your previous filter criteria without manually entering everything again. [1]
So you have options: duplicate the table (keeps original intact) or delete/re-run using a saved search (faster setup).
