Understanding the Number of Mapped Fields: 4 in a Data Mapping Context

What does the Number of mapped Fields: 4 mean There are 7 lines - I've always thought this meant it was mapped to 7 cols

Hey hey! Can you drop the URL for your table here? (if applicable) ๐Ÿซถ Don't worry, only admins will be able to open your table ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hey there Ian thanks for reaching out, the mapped fields are the columns you selected to see during the Enrichment setup process.

Thanks - so what do the blue lines represent please?

The blue lines show the connection between each box. It shows what the dependences are for the columns, for example "The Enrich Column" has a dependency with the "Domain" column since it needs that input to run.

whats the difference between a mapped field and a dependency?

Great question, Ian. Mapped fields are just the basic extraction from a source/integration column i.e. you extract a person's title from the LinkedIn integration

A dependency would also fit that description but can also apply to columns that have a conditional formula and wait for another integration to run before itself can run

Thanks Arturo O.... still a little unclear because, whilst I understand that a dependency is different from a mapped field .. dependencies are shown as dotted lines. And all the lines in the example above are solid ie not dependencies So it seems that whilst the box shows 4 mapped fields the lines show 9 "somethings" .... when I look at the other end of the solid blue line I see a col which uses the col as an input (which makes sense to me) but then how is that not a mapped field ... is it that in setting up the enrichment I used the enrichment UI to "map fields" (4 of the 9 lines) whilst the other 5 I entered the reference in the destination col dialogue box ?

I think that's part of an update the team had so it wouldn't be too cluttered on screen, as mentioned in the other thread, mainly for Mapped Fields. I did submit the request for review so they could consider adding the option for you to show all boxes in that view.No update yet, but we'll keep you posted.
