Hi Support - I'm getting an error (from Assignment 5 from Cohort 29) when I try to add a google sheet to update. I've made the google sheet public, and tried refreshing a few times. Thx for your help! cc Izzy https://clayrunhq.slack.com/archives/C09U3JW34NN/p1764603387177499
This error usually means the Google Sheets account isn’t connected properly in Clay. Make sure you’ve added your Google account in Clay by clicking “Add Enrichment,” searching for “Google Sheets,” and signing in when prompted. After connecting, paste the sheet URL and select the correct sheet. If you’re still seeing the error, double-check that your plan supports Google Sheets integration (it’s not available on the free plan). [1] [2] [3]
Is that what you were looking for?
If you still need help resolving the Google Sheets connection issue, I’m here to assist. Would you like to provide more details about what you’re trying to achieve or any other errors you’re encountering?
There’s no info in the sources about whether your specific error was resolved. For Google Sheets “Lookup, Add, or Update Row” errors, make sure your Google account is connected in Clay, you have edit access to the sheet, and you’re on a paid plan (the integration isn’t available on the free plan). If you still see connection issues, you can ask to speak to a human for more help. [1] [2] [3]
Did that answer your question?

Hey Ellen! Thanks for reaching out. Is this the 'Assignment 5' workbook? Let me know so I can look into this further for you!
Hi Ellen! A couple quick notes: It looks like the connection issue is happening because your account is currently on the Free plan — Trial status only applies to newly created accounts for the first two weeks, and since yours was created back in July, it’s no longer in the Trial period.
Another thing to double-check is the General Access setting on your Google Sheet. Please confirm that it’s set to “Anyone with the link” rather than “Restricted”, as a restricted setting can prevent the connection from working.
When you have a moment, could you update that setting and then try the 'Lookup, Add, or Update Row' action again? Let me know if it works afterward and if not, I can look further. Thank you!
