the waterfall ran all columns for validation
Hey hey! Can you drop the URL for your table here? (if applicable) ๐ซถ Don't worry, only admins will be able to open your table ๐
Hey, sorry for the delay!
Ah, yes, the team is working on making this a lot clearer as to what is happening. This may help clarify a bit:
The waterfall gives you the option to add a validation provider to check results from each email finder. When the validation tool determines the email is invalid, the next email finder tries to find a new one, but if it finds the same email as the previous column it won't try to validate it again because it already tried to validate once before, and this could result in no final output because none were valid. We automatically hide validation columns helping keep tables clean and that's why it's not evident at first glance. Let me know if you still have any questions though!Example and explanation: https://www.loom.com/share/e79acd92841a4706b1710c4ce1bddaa4
no i mean the last 2 rows ran all the providers even with the first provider gave the mail
I see, thank you, Nikhil! I still think the explanation from above covers that, as mentioned, the validation provider said the emails these providers found were initially invalid, and unfortunately none of them were able to find a new one to attempt to validate again.Since we don't control what data these providers have or return, it's something we'll have to look into with them to improve coverage and allow us to query them for unique records only, excluding previous results... but of course, that's not currently something they offer, hopefully soon though!
Got it! I was confused because it shows green tick mark even if the mail is invalid, also you mentioned "allow us to query them for unique records only, excluding previous results" but the fact that the next provider ran because the previous resulted in invalid. So this is not an issue right?
Correct, not an issue in terms of a bug but just unfortunate that they don't have a way to check and exclude records from their search yet, the email finders/providers that is. We're going to have an update soon that will make this clearer or more simplified so this confusing visual doesn't throw people off too much since it does come up often haha
