Will Clay Remove Duplicate Leads When Importing New Files?

Hi, I want to ask if once I exported a new file into an existing file will clay automatically remove leads that are already in the old list to avoid duplication? Thanks!

Hi, great question! It depends on whether you have auto-dedupe activated or not. If it’s turned on, Clay will automatically remove any duplicate leads from your new file when you export it into an existing one. You can learn more about how this works here: Auto Update and Auto Dedupe Table. If you’d rather upload the new file into a separate table first, you can use a Lookup to check if those leads already exist in your other tables before merging them.
