Understanding Maximum Run Time for Column Steps in Workflow

Does each column step have a maximum run time? Trying to implement delays but the only way I see to do this is with a webhook (which is annoying but fine) however I want to know if there is a maximum time until a column will default time out. Someone in Eng probably knows this
