Improving Google Maps Scraper with Specific Location Queries

Is there a way to be more specific about the location query for the google maps scraper? the proximity radius thing is kind of hard to use and it's hard to tell which location I already scraped based on Longitude and Latitude. Can you set a state e.g. New York or something instead?

Hey there Bryan thanks for reaching out, what you can do when using the the Google Maps feature is enter in a city in the "Location Query" bar in the upper left hand corner of the map. You can press the minus button in the bottom right of the map to zoom out and see a wider ranger of area as well. And finally in your search query you can also include the location you are searching in for example "HVAC in New York City" https://downloads.intercomcdn.com/i/o/w28k1kwz/1221288342/01d760362e8999378c9d65f7dcbc/image.png?expires=1729295100&signature=09c95e7a21735aeefdbb4a2411226f146e8dc31a9c9c4bb65582235335a80380&req=dSIlF8t2lYJbW%2FMW1HO4zUM78tMFXt7tRGxhNjA9wua0Am9PNe%2FzKiE91fxq%0ADI9i%0A

thank you! my question is that if I put "California" in the location query, and set the number of results to 1,000 - will I pull 1,000 HVAC companies in California? The + / - button is very fuzzy and doesn't map closely to specific state borders.

Hi! 😊 If you set the location query to “California” and ask for 1,000 results, it won’t pull exactly 1,000 HVAC companies across the entire state. The search works for smaller areas like specific cities, and it tends to limit results to around 90 per area and it's creating multiple 90 searches to get to 1000. If you set a broader location like a whole state, the results will be more random and fail since all the areas won't yield great results. To get accurate results, I’d recommend searching city by city within California. Let me know if you need help setting that up, and thanks for your patience! 👏
