Request for Help: Extract Contact/account ID from Clay-Salesforce Integration Errors

·
·

Hi Clay support team. I wanted to check if you can help us with a feature on the Clay - Salesforce integration. When we’re pushing contacts with Clay to Salesforce it gives us this error if the contacts/accounts exist in the system. Could you make it possible for us to pull the contact/account ID from the error message so we don’t have to run Lookup record on Salesforce to find the duplicates and update them later. Thanks a lot !

By default, Clay is designed to prevent duplicate records in Salesforce. Instead of trying to extract IDs from error messages, here's the recommended approach: 1. Use the "Lookup Record" action before creating new records to check for existing contacts/accounts. This action will: • Search for matching records • Return the Record ID if a match is found • Help you identify duplicates before attempting to create records 2. Once you have the Record ID, you can use the "Update Record" action to modify existing records instead of creating duplicates. Alternatively, if you need to bypass duplicate checking entirely, you can enable the "Duplicate Rule Override" option in the Create Record enrichment.
