Curious the best way to break an AI written sentence into paragraphs leveraging ChatGPT in Clay before it goes to smartlead?
You can format your text with paragraphs in Clay using ChatGPT through these steps:1. Open the enrichment panel by clicking the "add enrichment" button at the top right of the page. 2. Use ChatGPT to add HTML formatting by instructing it with prompts like: • "Add
at the start of every paragraph and
at the end" • "Insert at the end of every line for line breaks"This approach works well with Smartlead since it supports both HTML and newlines in custom fields.Remember to link your text column using a forward slash (e.g., /column1) in your prompt to reference the content you want to format. That didn't work unfortunately Video: https://www.loom.com/share/b0deab84e5984141b1caf06c2775cc79
There are two methods you can use to format your text with paragraphs:1. Using a Clay Formula: • Select "formula" for a new column • Use Clay's AI formula feature with this prompt: "Add html formatting '
' before every paragraph and '
' after every paragraph break from this column: /YourColumnName" • Review the output and click "Output is correct" to save 2. Using HTML Tags: Since Smartlead supports both HTML and newlines in custom fields, you can use either: • HTML tags (

) for paragraphs • Line breaks ( ) for new lines • Or simple newlines in your textAfter formatting, make sure to map these formatted columns to your custom fields in your Smartlead campaign setup. Hi David, thanks for reaching out, and my apologies for the delay! Here's what I recommend: Format the entire email as HTML within Clay and then send the HTML-formatted email to Smartlead, rather than plain text. You can use a formula in Clay to format it exactly as you'd like. To help, I've included an example in the images below. Give this a try, and let me know how it works out! :) https://downloads.intercomcdn.com/i/o/w28k1kwz/1320758634/5e64baa1a7c3613bb1c0ade7dffc/CleanShot+2025-01-03+at+19_03_21%402x.png?expires=1735950600&signature=45f7c82d115fc0e323699365e21ffaf0963dc441e14f34d0548dc793e8c81803&req=dSMlFs57lYdcXfMW1HO4zYrR038RH%2F%2F1vOxsBLQa1cN2Xz%2FgqkHPYxEJS05t%0ABtrp%0A https://downloads.intercomcdn.com/i/o/w28k1kwz/1320758670/cf670621bb67915a67fd7044da6c/CleanShot+2025-01-03+at+19_03_06%402x.png?expires=1735950600&signature=24bd6b73b5a934287fb766d3cae370bd6fd615af8e9f755768eb318b9f92ed0e&req=dSMlFs57lYdYWfMW1HO4zcXDJrSM9HWi42wqYqpuV7hBLrRorWMPKpbFm6kG%0A%2F%2FAD%0A https://downloads.intercomcdn.com/i/o/w28k1kwz/1320758769/0ebcdf9c8cca5f694cdc136954e1/CleanShot+2025-01-03+at+19_03_01%402x.png?expires=1735950600&signature=6dad13cc60b608ac40207f2eda3eb951469e8bff2a091a477417e82b433db3a5&req=dSMlFs57lYZZUPMW1HO4zZTPbcJl9VGiiDjO6wCWTgzm28In7D9vcGeT7htv%0AM9hh%0A
And correcting myself slightly, this isn't full HTML as what would be expected on a website, this is simply using 2 line break tags (
) tag instead of
.
