Starting last night after using the GPT API successfully for over a week, I received the error message below. However, when I follow the link to OpenAI, I see that my usage is minimal, and that I have plenty of API funds left in my account. Is anyone else having this issue? What can I do to fix it to be able to continue using the GPT API? The rate limits associated with your OpenAI API key are too low to run this action with the selected model. See "Increasing your limits" here.
For reliable use of OpenAI in Clay, you need to ensure your API plan meets the required tokens per minute (TPM) requirements - specifically 30,000 TPM for ChatGPT columns and 450,000 TPM for Claygent. Even if you have sufficient funds, you might be on a free plan or tier 1 that doesn't support these requirements. If you're seeing a "failed to parse body" error, this typically indicates a formatting issue in your API request. Here are some troubleshooting steps:1. Check for proper quotation marks around text values 2. Remove any extra commas 3. Verify proper formatting of special characters 4. Double-check your data format before sendingYou can validate your JSON formatting using a tool like JSONLint to identify any syntax errors. You will need to upgrade your tier in open ai to be able to use gpt without errors in clay
what tier are you on?
To use OpenAI's GPT in Clay without errors, you need a plan that provides:• 30,000 TPM (tokens per minute) for ChatGPT columns• 450,000 TPM for ClaygentA free plan or tier 1 will not meet these requirements. You can check your current API usage tier and limits at: https://platform.openai.com/settings/organization/limits
Showing Tier 1
Since you're currently on Tier 1, you'll need to upgrade to a Tier 2 API key to meet Clay's requirements of 30,000 TPM for ChatGPT columns and 450,000 TPM for Claygent. You can manage this upgrade by:1. First checking your current usage and limits at: • https://platform.openai.com/account/usage • https://platform.openai.com/account/limits 2. Following the upgrade instructions provided in OpenAI's community guide: https://community.openai.com/t/how-to-move-up-in-usage-tiers/677788
Yes, tier 1 can be very limiting - you will need to move to higher tiers by spending more balance in open ai credits
or you can email them for tier upgrade

Hi Clay team, I am experiencing the exact same issue as above with my OpenAI API key. I am on the 'pay as we go' plan in tier 1. OpenAI Dashboard is stating that I will automatically be upgraded to tier 2, if I make more requests/increase my usages. Almost all the request I normally make in OpenAI is via Clay. Since I have the error "The rate limits associated with your OpenAI API key are too low to run this action with the selected model', i cannot use my API key. Hence I cannot increase my usages if I cannot use my API key in Clay. What to do? It seems I am in a loop.
Marlene message openai and request them to move you to a higher tier
It seems that they do not work with the form for 'requesting a higher tier' anymore. What way is best to message/contact them?
