Hi everyone, when searching for Company founders, owners etc. via LinkedIn 'Find People' Search, I'm only getting about 80/300 people - is that normal? If so, is there a way to find more people?
In this example, it's only found 3 people out of 50 companies.
2 of which are of the same company
Try after removing the Seniority tags.
I'm now getting 8 results, which out of 50, is still not very many compared to what I've seen
Have you added any limits on the number of results by mistake?
no
I would add more keywords for titles, and also remove the hyphen from co-founder. If these are studios or agencies, try adding owner, director, partner, etc. (whatever's relevant). If you manually check for 5 companies, you will get a sense of the titles being used.
12 results from 50 companies - only changed country to uk
whats the typical number out of 50? I tried with no filters, and I counted less people with 'owner' status appear, so im assuming leaving no filters, still doesn't bring up all results
I would say at least 1.5x.
Also depends on how mature the company is and the size of the company (employees).
so there shld be 1.5x results with no filters, or with owner or similar filter?
There should be 1.5 founders (some single-owner, some multiple-owner). So that's my guess.
Hey!! Just got to this, checking it out. There are some tradeoffs for the searches, like private profiles not being found but will test it out too
Thanks - here's one I currently have, that barely gets any results https://app.clay.com/workspaces/227204/tables/t_eTCyhNafKPTu/views/gv_WPdgw0JZ5WMs
The others also get very minimal results, but I've been testing this the most
But yes, Amit's insights are also very spot on, some people may not even have LinkedIn profiles or these titles at all because they don't use it that much (depending if it's mostly SMBs or just on the smaller side)
This is one example I have whereby LinkedIn profile is public: https://d3vl36l12sfx26.cloudfront.net/5219b42b-ff5d-472e-b099-b0340a96df90/1708552309355-cf[…]T1E3LyCVR-Xk~ZbkDxibQ6hIw__&Key-Pair-Id=K3NV4LZ47N8M46 https://d3vl36l12sfx26.cloudfront.net/5219b42b-ff5d-472e-b099-b0340a96df90/1708552386785-25[…]Xryv8bjQF97Xc56n5YcWnH18g__&Key-Pair-Id=K3NV4LZ47N8M46
Just ran a test without adding titles and got 186 results but yes, they vary quite a bit as expected
good to know, I also managed to get 186 without filters
How our data providers determine if they can pull the profile (publicly visible) or not is without being logged into LinkedIn because they don't have access to an active session or cookies to comply with LinkedIn's potential restrictions.I'll check if that profile is visible in incognito mode
Yep, looks like it's not publicly visible in this case
The advantage of this is that you don't have to worry about being blocked by LinkedIn. Then you can make decisions about how to approach your workflows... Some people still prefer scraping linkedin directly, with tools like Phantombuster or our extension (which will be updated very soon), to then further enrich in Clay.
