Is this due to my OpenAI API like it says or because I'm on a free trial of Clay? I cut my list way down to see if it would be able to work with less rows, but its the same error.
The error is likely related to your OpenAI API key's usage tier limitations, not your Clay free trial status. For reliable use with Clay, your OpenAI API needs sufficient tokens per minute (TPM) - specifically 30, 000 TPM for ChatGPT columns and 450, 000 TPM for Claygent. If you're on a free or tier 1 OpenAI plan, it won't meet these requirements regardless of how many rows you're processing. You can check your current limits at OpenAI API Limits and consider upgrading your OpenAI API key to a higher tier for better performance.

Is tier 2 enough?
Yes, OpenAI API tier 2 is sufficient for both ChatGPT columns and Claygent in Clay. For ChatGPT columns, you need 30, 000 TPM which any paid tier can handle. For Claygent, you need 450, 000 TPM which requires tier 2 or higher. So upgrading to tier 2 will resolve your current limitations and allow you to use both features.
Your GPT-4o API Limits (confirmed) Tokens per Minute (TPM): 30,000 Requests per Minute (RPM): 500 Tokens per Day (TPD): 90,000 These are my current settings
Your current GPT-4o API limits (30, 000 TPM) are sufficient for using ChatGPT columns in Clay, as these require exactly 30, 000 TPM which any paid tier can handle. However, for Claygent, you need 450, 000 TPM, which requires OpenAI Tier 2 or higher. Your current limits won't support Claygent functionality.
If my GPT level is high enough then how do I get it to work
Based on your current GPT-4o API limits (30, 000 TPM), you don't have sufficient tokens per minute for Claygent, which requires 450, 000 TPM (Tier 2 or higher). To get Claygent working: 1. Upgrade your OpenAI API key to Tier 2 or higher 2. Check your new limits at: https://platform.openai.com/account/limits 3. Once upgraded, add your API key in Clay when setting up the Claygent column 4. Configure your mission in the Claygent input field Your current limits are sufficient for ChatGPT columns but not for Claygent web research.
Im not trying t have Claygent. Im trying to use ChatGPT 4o
Hey Josh, thanks for reaching out! If your using OpenAI and the Tier is 2+ I would recommend regenerating a new key, and retrying the connection between this key and Clay! Let me know how that goes and if there's anything else we can assist with! :)
I upgraded to tier 2 and now its good. I was on Tier 1. Thank you Now im trying to do a text scrape off domains and trying to find a way around the 1 credit fee!!
