how do you check to ensure your hubspot integration is working?

how do you check to ensure your hubspot integration is working? i'm trying to sync information back to hubspot from Clay (i.e., funding stages on company records and create new contacts that were scraped in clay), but I keep getting an error message both times: "Property values were not valid"
