I have company data in a table and in other table I have exported the contacts of person now I wants to map the data from the contacts to the company table, tell me how can I do so.
To map data from the contacts table to the company table in Clay, you can use our "write to table" feature. This action allows you to transfer data between Clay tables, making it perfect for your needs. Here's a brief overview of how to set it up: 1. You'll need your Clay API key to create an integration. 2. Select your contacts table as the source table. 3. Choose the company table as the destination table. 4. Set up the column mapping to determine which data from the contacts table should be written to which columns in the company table. This feature is particularly useful for tasks like parsing lists or mirroring column data from one table to another. If you need more detailed instructions on setting up the "write to table" action, let me know and I can provide further guidance.
But how can I determine which company data is for which contact record.
We automatically link your Find Companies table to your Find People table, allowing you to map company data to contact records. This feature, called "write to table," lets you extract company attributes directly into your Find People table. For example, if you want to add company details like tech stack or revenue to your contacts' information, you can do it once at the company level and pull it into your people data for all relevant contacts. To ensure you have the most up-to-date information, remember to rerun the lookup column in your Find People table if you enrich your Find Company table with new details later.

After creating write to the other table use dedupe feature
After creating a "write to table" action, you can use deduplication in two ways: 1. Auto-dedupe: • Click the Auto-dedupe icon at the bottom right of your table. • Select "Enable automatic deduplication". • Choose the column to dedupe. • Click "Save Changes". 2. Manual column deduplication: • Click the header of the column you want to dedupe. • Select "Dedupe" from the dropdown menu. • Confirm the duplicate values to remove and click "Delete". Remember, deleted rows can't be recovered, so use caution. Deduplication is case-sensitive and considers extra whitespace.
