I'm getting an "invalid input" on the "Job Leavers" tab column "Create New Company" here: https://app.clay.com/workspaces/339088/workbooks/wb_0sz3fhtXTp5R3BSq6gH/tables/t_0t07wt9yk6J5kbr9ANQ/views/gv_0t07wt9t42J95fjwxGk The error is saying "invalid domain" however, when I navigate to the domain, it is valid and some of them are working no problem. Can someone please take a look?
The "invalid domain" error typically occurs when there are invalid or null domains in your data. Even if the domains appear valid when you navigate to them, the enrichment process may be encountering formatting issues. To resolve this: 1. Check the domain column for any blank, null, or improperly formatted entries in the rows showing errors 2. Verify domain format - ensure domains don't have extra spaces, special characters, or formatting issues 3. Update the flagged rows by opening them and ensuring the domain column is properly populated with clean domain data 4. Rerun the enrichment after making these corrections The fact that some domains work while others don't suggests inconsistent data formatting rather than actual domain validity issues.
I did all of this and I'm not sure why it is still not working.
Hey Nicole! Looking through your table now, which column are you seeing the error message in?
'Job Leavers' table, column 'Create New Company'
Hey Nicole, just spotted the issue! In your Create New Company column settings, you were referencing the "new company domain," column but some of those fields were empty. You want to reference the "Final-New Company Domain," column instead. I ran it for one of the rows, but go ahead and run it for all of them, and that should work. Let me know if you have any other questions.
I see now. Thank you. I noticed that if there's already an existing company with that domain in HubSpot, if it's created via Clay, it won't auto-associate the 2 companies. Or, if it's 2 coming from 2 rows of 2 different contacts, it will create it twice also. Is there a best practice to exporting to Clay without creating duplicates?
Yes, for HubSpot, best practice is to do a lookup record which I see you did, and then when you perform the "create new company" action, set up the conditional logic to ensure it doesn't run if there is already an object found. I see you've also done this, are there duplicates in your HubSpot. I can flag that to the team internally!
