Setting Up Webflow Action: Character Limit Issues in Text Fields

Hello, I'd like to get support with setting up Webflow action. I have text fields which mapped to collection/CMS fields in Webflow so it can auto-generate new collection items (essentially auto-create a landing page with personalised text). However, it seems there is some limit on the text length - the error message for the first field goes away when it's only 1 sentence instead of a long text, despite the CMS field being set to multi-line (even tried to increase character count for that CMS field). Could you please let me know how to move forward here and what is the character limit?

This text was 1,900 characters and it still didn't work. How can i remove control characters and unsupported HTML?

that is probably not the issue as I copy pasted the same 1 sentence which worked a few times but then it doesn't work anymore. How to check if the lenght of the text is the problem?

it's not, the text lenght is 1,900. what else could cause the this error message? Invalid value for "Section 1 Rationale". The provided input does not meet the required format. Please check the description and try again.

Hi Domagoj! I did some research, and it looks like according to Webflow's documentation there is no limit to a 'Plain text field'. Is this the correct type that you're using for "Section 2 Rationale"? I' wondering if the "Section 2 Rationale" is a Rich text field type, and so must be written in HTML. That could explain the required format error that we're seeing.

hi Natalie H., all fields except 'Intro message' are Plain text format in Webflow. That's why I don't really get what's happening. However, I tried to create a test collection with only 3 CMS fields and hardcode input in Clay fields and still it's not going through. Seems to be some integration issue

Thanks! Earlier you mentioned that it may be related to max character length. I tried to do some testing on my end to confirm, but I'm on the free plan of Webflow and unfortunately ran into a CMS item limit. :( The "Range Rationale" is 2K characters long - so I think that Plain text field may not be the best type of input. Have you tried switching the type to "Rich text"?

haven't tried that as I'd need to re-connect all fields to do that but yeah maybe it works because Intro text is a rich field and on the top of the list and if the integration works goes field by field it works because error field is only 2-3rd on the list
