getting a ton of random people private messaging me what are basically advertisements - do you guys or slack have a solution for this other than leaving the Clay S. community?

That's frustrating—spam DMs are definitely against our community guidelines. Our Terms of Service prohibit using Clay communities to promote or execute financial scams and misrepresenting identity. [1]
For Slack-specific controls, you can adjust your DM settings in Slack preferences to limit who can message you directly. This is managed through Slack's privacy settings rather than something we control on our end.
If you're getting persistent spam from specific users, please report them so we can take action against accounts violating our community standards.

For blocking this user directly in Slack, you can block them through Slack's native blocking feature - go to their profile and select "Block" from the options menu. You can also adjust your DM settings in Slack preferences to restrict who can message you.
