Is there a way not to return data if they're not a mobile number so it won't eat up Clay credits? I already ticked "Only validate mobile phone types" and "require validation success" https://app.clay.com/workspaces/500666/workbooks/wb_js6MmVgFe3jK/tables/t_xP4QwhXNjXEB/views/gv_5zndiaTevhP3
To ensure only valid mobile phone numbers are returned and minimize Clay credit usage, you can: 1. Use the ClearoutPhone integration's "Check Phone Line Type & Status" action. 2. Toggle on the "Mobile Phone Only" option to filter for mobile numbers only. 3. Select "Only validate mobile phone types" and "require validation success" as you've already done. For most providers, if invalid data is returned, we refund the credits back to you. You can also consider using other mobile validation services like Trestle, which verifies and grades phone numbers. Remember, you can always buy credit top-ups if needed, though they cost 50% more than your plan's typical credit cost.
It still returns data even if they are landline which consumes Clay credits
Also, row 3 shows as mobile number but it is not being validated on the Mobile Phone column
Hey, What’s happening behind the scenes is that validation is already running at each step, and it’s set to only validate mobile phone types—just like you’ve configured. Even if the landline shows up in the column, it won’t be marked as valid unless it meets the mobile criteria. If you expand all columns, you’ll see the validation status clearly. That’s what controls whether credits are actually spent on a valid result. Let me know if you’d like help adjusting the setup to filter these out even earlier.
Hey, They’re already being filtered based on the mobile number if it's valid or not, so there might not be much else to tweak there. Each provider does have its own logic, and if you click into the provider settings, you’ll see some controls—but in most cases, they are returning what they believe is a mobile number. If you notice one provider consistently returning incorrect results, it’s totally fine to remove it from your waterfall to avoid unnecessary credit use. Let me know if you have more questions
Hmmm okay then. Gotcha
