Hey, one of my clients noticed that some of the contacts we pulled weren’t currently working at the company. They left more than 5 months ago but were still added to the list. I’m using the ‘find contacts at company’ search in Clay. Do you know why this is happening? I need to explain it to my client.
💤 You've caught us outside of our support hours (9am-9pm EST), but don't worry - we'll be back in touch within 24 hours (often sooner!). If you haven't already, please include the URL of your table in the thread below so that we can help you as quickly as possible!
Hi, happy to provide context. The data provided by Clay comes from third-party data providers that scrape LinkedIn, rather than a direct feed. Because of this, there can be a lag in the data updates, which might result in profiles that are no longer current still appearing in your search results. Profiles set to private or restricted may also not be updated as frequently by the data providers, contributing to outdated contacts appearing in your list. All this being said, we're continuously working on improving our search algorithm/building the best growth tool possible and are always looking for feedback! If you have specific examples of the differences between your search results, please do share and I'd be more than happy to pass your feedback along to our engineering team. Can you share a people table url that currently has this issue?
