Hey hey! Can you drop the URL for your table here? (if applicable) 🫶 Don't worry, only admins will be able to open your table 😉

Hey Ben! Yep, you can toggle that option in the settings, it should only return them if prospeo says they're valid

Thx Arturo. I guess my q is … what’s recommended ? Not so familiar with catch all emails

Or was this more like a general question? lol

    ahhh yep ahhaha

I'd say most people avoid them because it could be that nobody checks them or has a higher chance of bouncing.

catch-alls have a bad rep overall

    Ah gotcha gotcha

Yeah I guess wasn’t sure what “returning catch alls” meant in the context of “safe to send to” ?

  • Avatar of Clay Team

In that context, it's probably because the email has been tested and seen some success before(?). Eric N. may have more context given the 1mil emails a month experience lol

Ben C. In simple terms, a catch-all email is an email that is set up to receive any email sent to a domain, even if the specific email address doesn't exist. A SMTP based verifier like Neverbounce, Zerobounce or Debounce can't verify if the mailboxes on catch-all domains exist or not until they send them actual emails. If all your prospects are important, then you can verify them using Scrubby (although a bit expensive). Scrubby sends them actual emails using burner accounts to see if they bounce or not. If they bounce back, they count them as invalid, otherwise mark them as valid.
