When typing in the filter fields how can i ensure this doesn't turn into manual coding type mode?
👋 Hey there! Our support team has got your message - we'll be back in touch within 24 hours (often sooner!). If you haven't already, please include the URL of your table in this thread so that we can help you as quickly as possible!
That shouldn’t normally happen, and the filter fields should stay user-friendly. Do you remember what actions you took before it switched to a more manual coding mode? Any details can help us figure out what might be going on! 😊
this is how i would like it to be
Honestly, i dont remember, but this happens very often, i hit some key and it turns into this coding mode
Got it! Could you try doing a new search and record a Loom video of the issue when it happens? This will help us see exactly what’s going on. I’ll also file a bug report, but since I can’t replicate it on my end, the video will be super helpful! 😊
Sure
Do you know if i can use boolean method in applying filters?
like AND, OR
For now, i think its AND for the major filter categories, but within a specific field everything is an OR
for example, i want the About section to have Qualititive AND Qual, not either one of them, but both
No, the filter works a bit differently. When you add multiple values (like by using commas), it creates “pills” for each, and these are treated as OR conditions, not AND. So, for example, if you type “Qualitative, Qual,” the search will return results that contain either “Qualitative” or “Qual.” It won’t filter for results that contain both terms at the same time. If you need both terms to be present together, you’d have to enter them as a single value rather than separate ones. Let me know if you need more help with this! 😊
this is helpful, but i dont want them like "together", but somewhere in the About section i want them to be present.
Got it! 😊 In this case, you can run separate searches for each term and then use a lookup in Clay to identify which results have both terms present somewhere in the “About” section. For example: 1. Table 1: Contains results for “Qualitative.” 2. Table 2: Contains results for “Qual.” 3. Use a lookup to cross-reference Table 1 with Table 2, checking which entries have both terms. This method helps ensure that each term is present in the “About” section, even if they aren’t directly next to each other. Here’s a video guide on using lookups for more details. Let me know if this helps or if you need more guidance! 😊
We haven't heard back from you in a bit, so we're going to go ahead and close things out here - feel free to let us know if you still need something!
