Hey y'all! Just getting started with Clay. How do I get it to input the person's actual name into the AI generated email? Also how do I then take those generated emails and send them out? When I click Start Email Campaign the options are draft messages (which I already did in the table), and Create Smartlead Campaign but that doesn't seem right either.
Hey hey! Can you drop the URL for your table here? (if applicable) 🫶 Don't worry, only admins will be able to open your table 😉
Is Export -> Send to -> CRM or Email Sequencer the way to go?
Hey, thanks for reaching out, sorry for the delay! Taking a look
Cody, to reference columns that have the values you want to insert into another integration/column you can use a forward slash / which will open up a dropdown of the current options you have in your table, you just select the column you want to use and it should replace them for each row
Quick example if it helps: https://www.loom.com/share/17d99dc3aa4f4e21a4158d86dc6feeb1?sid=b45d8663-f6e5-4dad-97e7-a5b9e001793a
There are different ways to export this but using the available integrations is usually best, otherwise there is a CSV option.
Ahh ok that's helpful. And would you recommend doing the email drafting/prompting via the method in the video. I did it in the table itself through this tool. Looks like the prompting works fairly differently in each
Also the way you show it is it going to cost a credit to generate each subject line and a credit for each email body? So if you ran all the 101 rows you have in that video that would be like 200 credits? Which is like $15 roughly, right?
Hey Cody! Yes, if only if you're using AI to generate that part of the text, otherwise, if it's using variables you already have in other columns then it's not going to charge any credits.
You can always clean/format the final responses so it removes unwanted sections if they exist.-> Use the formula generator to clean up or format other columns: https://www.loom.com/share/bbb329dcf708442b9abbdf26e870f596
Can I use the formula generator to pull out the subject line? Also do you know why it is only sometimes generating a subject line?
Hey Cody, yes you can ask it to extract the value based on certain patterns. I'm guessing the prompt could be misinterpreted by chatGPT and not understand it's a required output
Here's an example of how to extract or format certain values with formulas, -> how to Split or Combine names with formulas: https://www.loom.com/share/75cf18efe4bf47979c6b4868d1594e6c
Ok I made a little bit of progress but not much:: [https:://www.loom.com/share/9c1b729a047541098f7c0cc23f8e87f6?sid=0a7fffa9-35f3-4f30-9fee-a8dd7c9cb6b6](https://www.loom.com/share/9c1b729a047541098f7c0cc23f8e87f6?sid=0a7fffa9-35f3-4f30-9fee-a8dd7c9cb6b6)
