The most common merge column issue occurs when your formula assumes every row has data, but some rows are empty.
Fix: Add conditional logic to your formula like "if {{response}} exists..." so it only processes rows with actual data.
To create a merge column:
1. Click Add column → Merge columns
2. Select a data type
3. Write your formula using / to include columns
4. Click Save settings
This conditional approach prevents errors and ensures your merge column returns the expected output.
