Is there a way to scrape the ‘Where they live’ section on a company’s Linkedin page to extract the number of people that live in each location? Or does Linkedin block this?
LinkedIn has privacy restrictions that limit direct scraping of employee location data from company pages. Our data providers don't use your active session or cookies to scrape LinkedIn data live, so some fields are only visible when logged in. For more accurate location data, you could use Clay's Chrome Extension to scrape websites or consider third-party scrapers like Phantombuster or Apify, though these may put your account at risk. Alternatively, you can use our "Find People" feature with location filters to get employee location data from our database rather than scraping directly.
How would I do this using the ‘find’ people feature?
To use Find People for location data: 1. Click Actions → Find People at These Companies 2. Select your company table and use LinkedIn URLs or domains as identifiers 3. In the search filters, use the Location filter to specify cities or countries (e.g., "New York") 4. Set other filters as needed (job titles, seniority, etc.) 5. Click Preview People to see results, then Import to save This gives you employee location data from our database rather than scraping LinkedIn directly.
What data is your database derived from?
Our database uses multiple third-party data providers including People Data Labs, PredictLeads, Snov.io, Prospeo, Companies People and Jobs, ZoomInfo, Ocean.io, and others. The data is refreshed on a rolling basis with full updates taking 2-3 weeks due to dataset size. This includes employee location data aggregated from sources like Indeed.com.
Hey Josh F. I'm trying to do the same thing - did you manage via Apify or did you settle with find people in Clay? Thanks in advance!
I gave up William Y.
